Default tinking of buying s2k over E46m3,cant drive stick

Im thinking of purchasing a used car just to have fun before E90 m3 comes out in late 2006. If I do get a car now Ill probably wait till 2007-2008 to get it so i could get a better deal.

anyways, I drove stick for a couple of times 2 summers ago. It was a old beat VW.
Now im thinking of purchasing or leasing? a E46 m3 but I m scared of fixing the car incase it has problems since euro cars isnt known for their quality, well not as reliable as s2k IMO. Thats why im considering a s2k, because I believe it is more reliable than a used m3, plus I could get one for $20-24k easily? rather than spending high 30k or low 40s on a m3.

the biggest problem is I have heard that alot of people do beat the hell out of s2k because it is meant to be beaten, however I have no idea how to drive it correctly. What can I do? Non of my friends drive manual either

ok i cant tell you much because im 15 and i dont have a license. But i do know how to drive stick. Last summer i started and in about 2 months of driving once every other week i could do it pretty good. I thought it was a very easy car to learn in. If you did it everyday you could be excellent in a bout 1-2 weeks.

If you're afraid to learn how to drive a stick on an S2000, why don't you buy a beater to learn on?

im not a fan of bangle style design but i think the E90 so far looks decent, so E90 m3 wont be that bad. the only thing im worried about is the price. V8 might bump the car to 55k starting. Although this is a myth too.

my biggest problem is now i cant drive a stick, how am i going to buy a used car without test driving it. yes i have heard great things about both cars but it is just hard not to drive the car before the purchase. How am i suppose to know if the car has any potential problem without test drive it a couple of times, unless i guess i bring a mechanic along with me. I suppose that works...

look at the realiability of E class, C class?

E46 m3 has its own problem too, from blown engine to other stuff I cant remember but the list is out there. my mom has a x5, it s great except when driving above 70mph, i could hear wind noise, sorta like blowning a can of coke. and its annoying as hell. Its not a BIG problem but its annoying. our japanese cars never had things like that and im afraid that this m3 may possess these little problems that really cant be fixed even taken to the dealer.
