Default Tint?

Ok, so I need some advice.

I'm looking to get my windows tinted but I don't know how dark to go.

What do you guys have?

I want to go as dark as possible but I also don't want to have any issues with safety at night. What do you guys suggest?

Also, is it smart to put tint on the entire front windshield? If so, how dark? I have seen it done and it looks DEAD SEXY, but again, I don't think its worth compromising safety too much.

Help please.

Pics with darkness of tint (percent of light allowed through) would be a plus.

Thanks.

It is not legal to have the entire front windshield tinted. Just go with the legal tint and you wont have any problems. Also, it is not too dark at night so you should be fine. Here is a site that might help.

It's a combination of what's legal (check local laws), what you prefer, what desired effect you want and what you can afford. Around here heat is a major issue so I went with the one that had the best heat rejection (it wasn't the darkest by far). YMMV depending on your budget, needs and preferences.

Photos aren't really all that useful IMO. My tint looks darker than it actually is due to the black interior of my S.

I had 30% all around on my last car. It is great down here in FL, but on the S, I think I might skip the tint since it's hard enough to see out of w/ the top up.

30% is fine to see out of during the day, but if it's raining and night, i'd end up rolling down my windows most of the time b/c it is VERY dark at night.

Don't worry about the legal aspects please. I'm getting a medical exemption. Yes, I have a legitimate problem. Not lupus or anything, but my eyes are extremely sensitive to light. At night the lights of oncoming and even cars behind me hurt me eyes.

Here is the official law allowing this:

you need some tinted glasses, the kind that remove glare and stuff, rather than tinting the front windshield...

I can't stand glasses. Not even sunglasses. Feels unnatural and hurts my face/ears. I've tried everything, expensive ones, cheap ones, etc. No luck.

I went with 25% on my side/rear (legal is 35%) and I feel it's dark enough to look good and keep the sun out well, but I am still able to see at night fine AND I haven't had even a second glance from the police.

I went with 5%, I know you said safety was important and this may be too dark but its a pic so you can see. I hate people being able to see in,
