Before my AP1 got totaled I had just gotten the windows tinted; in Florida 35% is as dark as you can legally go on the sides but it barely looked tinted. I wasn't pleased at all.

Where is the sweet spot that looks really dark but still allows you to see at night?

 

5%. You get used to it after a few days. You don't get pulled over for it (South Florida at least). Only time you usually get a ticket for tint is if a cop pulls you over for something else, then notices the tint. I've yet to be ticketed for my tint i've had it for 5 1/2 months now. I love it!

Also, what do you guys use to clean your int glass with tint on? I'm told standard Windex type cleaners will ruin it?

 

I have 35% on the sides and rear, I wish I would have gone 30% though. The M3 next to my car in the pic also has 35%.

Invisible Glass is a great cleaner to use, it is safe and recommended for tint film.

 

Before and after shots of my tint. Legal in NC is 35%, so thats what the side and rear window are. Not sure what the windshield strip is but I would guess its 10% since it is very noticeably darker inside than the side windows.

 

I'm thinking 15% on the sides and rear, leaving the front alone.

 

20% looks really dark. i hvae 35% and i am happy with it, i dont want any darker bc i cant see out of my windows at night

 

15% on the sides, static cling "Black" tint on the rear and now I just replaced my windshield, I'm thinking of going 50% on the front...
