For a sec you got me thinking about what SSM is. Haha ... thought you meant the model name "SSM" that Honda intended to use for the S2000 hehehe

Anyway, tint + convertible just doesn't work well imo. Unless you are going for looks, the tint won't do much to lower the temperature. Our soft top is the main source of heat coming in during summer. The tint aint gonna do much ...

I have 35% tint all around! it's bad ass!! Also, it protects you from the sun.

Actually, all cars' windows and windshields do that already ... without the need of tint.

I personally think tint is great for SUVs (because of the sheer size of those damn windows) or large sedans. But for convertibles? Bleh ...

To his or her own opinion. IMO.... I like tinted windows. My windows are tinted at 5% all around to include the back window except front windshield. I just hate people who stares or look into my car while i'm driving, that's all. Visibility for the rear is shot down at night time, but during the daytime it is still clearly visible and that's with 5% tint also.

Glass alone does provide a small amount of UV protection, but very small. Most tints provide a high UPF level. Many tints provide up to 50 UPF that is equal to allowing 2% of UVA and UVB to penetrate.

The tint will help to lower UV fading / ageing of your seats, carpet etc.

I think all cars, verts or not, look really odd without tinted windows... it's like the car is unfinished or something. Privacy is good too, you'll feel much more comfortable making out with your girlfriend without being able to see random people walking around.

i have the plastic rear window with static tint... that stuff is like adding an extra layer of plastic on top, it's a visibility killer and I can still see just fine.... just tint all the way around.

5% is way too dark. i would go with 35 all around. it's pretty light, you can pretty much see through the window during daytime but it helps at night. i kinda like 20 all around but it is a little dark and you might get pulled over.
