trust me guys, you don't want a girl that likes you for your car. most girls are surprised that i even own as s2000, they find out like 3-4 months after we first meet. i usually drive my hybrid accord when i go to parties, etc, etc. the s2000 is reserved for my own fun.

I must disagree with the "back up when parking". The problem when you're parked backed-up, is that the nose is soooo low and long that other cars maneouvering do not see it and WHAM you get a nasty scrape !

So my advice : get to know your front distance and park with your butt sticking out

My one piece of advice - "Leave it stock"!

Someone needed to say that since Bieg is banned.

Seriously, my one piece would be to gradually push the limits of the car. By that I mean get to know your car's handling characteristics in all forms of weather and road conditions in a sensible gradual manner. If you are not familiar with short-wheel-based-high-speed-grippy-tires-with-rear-wheel-drive-and-sharp-handling-characteristics this car can catch you off guard and potentially hurt you. True, some of the first generation intensness is gone but non-the-less, it's important to understand your car to get the most enjoyment out of it.

This is a great thread - thanks! (I'm cutting and pasting all the good advice into one .txt file to keep in my car )

I have a tip too, now - get seat covers. I just discovered some seriously bad scraping of the driver's side leather seat on one of the side supports. I didn't notice it till now. It's really bad, some of the "paint" has been flaked away. So sad... frustrating. I think it must have been a metal button at the waistline of one of my leather jackets. SIGH.

So, now I need to figure out what wet okoles are best for Suzuka Blue, and whether it's possible to get the seats fixed, and whether I should do that now or just get the seat covers and worry about fixing the seats later on.
