Glad they're replacing it. When my car was 2 days old, I got a nail puncture and the dealer scratched up my rim repairing it, even though I requested a new tire, whether I had to pay or not. They then said they'd put on a new tire and rim, no charge, but when I went to have it done, they completely ruined the new wheel, not just scratched, but gouged beyond use (OUCH! It was not pretty). They ended up doing a wheel ansd tire swap from a new car in the lot.

I go elsewhere now and let them know up front that I'm extremely anal about the car and concerned about scratched rims. So far so good.

There was one UK owner who ordered a set of tires for fitting at a track day. The idea being he could finish off the last of his original tires, and then have new rubber for going home.

The mobile fitter managed to gouge 3 out of 4 of the rims! The company replaced them. He was happy in the end!

That was on stock rims...

Well I purchased the new wheel from Pacific Motorsports for $726.00. Then I immediately had them fax me the reciept and brought it over to the wheel shop that damaged the rim. They immediately put a $726.00 credit on the credit card I used to get the new rim.

So I'm happy. I can most likely get the damaged wheel repaired for about $50 to almost new condition and now I'll have a brand new rim for a spare tire.

looks like good things can come from bad experiences. glad to see that the tire place backs up their work. THAT is the only kind of shops I deal with. Nice to have a spare though!

Well I got my replacement wheel that the wheel and tire shop bought me for scratching up my original rim. I may hang it on the wall asa decoration until I need to use it in the game room because I really don't feel like changing the tire on the damaged rim onto it. Hell, they'll probably just damage the new one too.
