Yes, lots of people have either tried them or considered them. If you do a search for "S03" or "S-03" you'll come up lots of threads. To summarize those threads, they will last longer but they do not handle as well as the S02's.

Driving styles vary. I don't drop the clutch or Auto-X but I do enjoy a good spin in the country on the weekends. My drive to work (the S2K is my every day car) is 3 miles of two lane road and 9 miles of interstate. Not much wear for five days a week. IMHO I get all the pleasure out of the car that I need or want.
