Tire cost and local dealers
After seeing Cthree's thread it seems to me we should all post local dealers with good deals to help us all find tires in our areas. I know you can order from tirerack but some of us don't want to have tires shipped and then have to have them mounted. Heck, I don't own another car so how would I get them to a shop? I'll start:
There's a place in the San Fernando Valley called Tires Buy Mark that has been around forever and includes mounting/balancing in the price of the tire. I just bought two new rear S02PP's from them for 200/tire. Good deal and good service.

Thanks for the info Strike. I've done 7600 and no sign of wear yet, but I'm sure that when the tires start to go, they'll go in a hurry. I'll take your advice and save a few bucks at that place in the Valley.
Try comparative shopping local with online vendors.

I've found Discount Tire to be a good shop. If they don't have the tire in stock they can get it pretty quick. They are very fair and will fix flats for free and they seem to appreciate how you feel about your car. You drive it in the bay and you drive it out again. Keep in mind this info is based on past dealings as I have not yet had to buy any new shoes for the stook.
I got a set of original replacements for the rear for $180 each ready to roll (ie mounted and balanced) from Lake Region Tires in Monroe, NY. He gave me a bit of a break since I do a lot of business with him, but he will sell them for under $200 ready to roll for anyone who is interested.
