Default Tire idiot

Had to pass this story on. Had rims powdercoated. Took tires and rims to tire store to have tires remounted. I'm watching thru the little customer window as the tire guy tries to fit the smaller front tire on the wider rear rim. Right away I know I'm in trouble. I tell the boss and he helps the tire guy mount the tires.

I get home and proudly put the new powdercoated rims on the car. Three hours later I go out to the garage and the left front tire is flat. Tire guy didn't get the tire pressure monitor valve stem seated tight. I take the tire off, tighten the vavle stem and go refill the tire.

On a hunch I check the tire pressue in the other 3 tires: Left rear 47lbs
Right front 51 lbs
Right rear 39lbs

A amazing job of total incompetence. Be careful - you may get this tire guy next!!!

lmao. sucks man...I had a similar experience @ sears, ala moana

told the guy to get me new tires, change my valve stems.

so they call me 3 hrs later (wtf? so long...) new tires on. JUST cuz, cuz i felt something was wrong, I check the valve stems...they're my old, cracked ones...tell em change it back.

They call me one hour later, done.

Go get the car, take a look at it and WTF the tire is FLAT. go tell them wtf? apparently they didnt re-balance it, they just took off the tire, changed the stem, and tossed the tires back on-since the tire i got was a bit wider, the 'weights' they added EARLIER slid under the lip of the tire so it wouldnt hold air.

told em redo it again, this time they told me we....we gotta get sticky weights, (which i wanted in the first place) so they charge me some more, i wait another hour...and then i finally get it back..

few days later, I find out one of my car lug nut caps are missing!! (camaro, we have these funny faux lug-nut plastic bits on the SS rims). call them up, they special order it from somewhere...and finally everything is ok.

the tires i bought there were shit too. -_-

I had something similar happen. Not only did they scratch by wheels when removing the old tires, my rears were inflated to 48PSI when I checked after I got home....it was a scary thought. This was done by Savannah tire Never goin' back there again.

i used to do tires for about two years in college, and low profile tires like on the 18" rims are a pain in the a$$ to do, especially with performance tires... and rims are so damn easy to scratch, so i can see how it happens, but in my two years i never scratched and nice rims, cause i payed attention...

Luckily I haven't had any tire mounting issues with the S yet.

I watched a kid almost kill himself when attempting to balance one of my 39" military tires on my Lexus.

The tires have beefy side lugs and weigh like 165lbs mounted.

They are too heavy and large to use the built in wheel brake on the balancer, so most shops use something like a mini sledge hammer sideways to slow the tire down.

This kid (for unknown reasons) decides to try to use his foot. He jumps up (as if he just did an ollie on a skateboard) and plants his foot on the corner of the tire where the tread meets the sidewall.

INSTANTLY, he is tossed back like 3 feet into the shelf behind him scattering bins of wheelweights everywhere.

I think it took 10 seconds of uncontrollable laughter before any of his coworkers picked him up and checked to see if he was ok.
