I currently have 255/35/18 tires on my rear wheels. I'll be replacing them soon, and I'm thinking about doing something a little different. Right now my front and rear tires have about the same sidewall thickness, and they are very low profile. I am thinking about replacing my rears with some 265/40/18 tires and leaving the front tires the same because they aren't in need of replacement at the moment.

Right now the tire diameter is almost the same as the stock tire diameter of 25.3 inches. But when I get these bigger tires the diameter is going to shoot up to 26.3. I haven't lowered my car because I don't really want to, so there looks like there's plenty of room.

Do you guys think this will look too muscle carlike with the noticeably thicker sidewall on the rears in comparison to the fronts? I just want opinions. I'll probably still try it. Hell, I'll only have to live with it for 10,000 miles with the way I go through tires.

Your speedometer will be wrong and your car will be even slower (It's likely already slower because of the 18s.)

Well the speedometer isn't really a problem because I know how to figure out the difference in speed mathematically. And speed isn't a huge deal for me. The car is plenty fast for me. A 10th of a second isn't going to bother me. I like trying different looks.
