Default Tire wear?

Just got my 03, and its equipped with the Bridgestone Potenza S-02s.

205/55 R16 front, and 225/50 R16 rear.

What kind of wear can I expect to get out of them?

I'm not that hard on them...an occasional (once a week) chirp from a hard start, but some aggressive corning on ramps and the like. Not enough to develop squeal all thru the corner, but enough that I can begin to "feel" I'm at the tires lateral limit.

Any input?

Thanks a bunch!

After some aggressive driving and one track day, mine lasted 10,000 miles. They usually last 7,500-20,000 miles. Check the TireRack Wheel and Tire Forum for more on this.

plan on 10k miles... if you get much more, you are lucky (and not having enough fun)!

gasturbine,

I did not think that I drove my car very hard, and my tires only lasted 12000 miles, the rear tires that is. The fronts have plenty of tire left, but the rears are at the wear bars!

I got less than 5,000 on my first set of rears. I've since cut my canyon drives from once a day to once a month and the wear has gone down.

about 10,000. Only thing is that they go from very good to very bad, not much in between.

10,000 miles for the rears. 20,000 miles for the fronts. Had to get Potenza S-03's last time. Dealer said the S-02's were being phased out and were $100 more a piece!! Anyone else have trouble getting new S-02's??
