Default Tired of reaching for your garage opener?

I ran into a thread that modifry had posted on. We were discussing the cell phone locations in the car. Well he posted a link for a mod that he did.

here is the thread. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...t=garage+opener

Well I just did the mod last night and it works. Now I don't have to reach back to unlock the compartment to access my garage opener.

Here is the link to his page with other interesting mods. http://www.baustnet.com/honda/mods/index.htm

Modifry I hope you don't mind!

Thanks modifry!

Kwando,

Thanks for the links.

The Honda's stupid 2-finger cruise control turn off was a BIG pet peave of mine. THANKS Modifry; the solution was too simple to see (for me that is). Just get of the divider! I keep asking myself why is it there and why Honda designed it that way.

And, the garage door opener will be second on my list of things to change. Too cool.

Jezzzzzz, I'll have to look into the other ideas as well but those first two will definitely be improvements.

Put a piece of velcro on passenger sun visor, another on the back of my garage door opener, afix and voila.

Has anyone looked at using the button from a homelink transmitter in the Accord? On that car it affixes to the drivers visor and is then able to be programmed to work with the various manufacturers.

I would think that you could wire that button to a simple relay which would then be able to pass the electricity to the opener.

The idea being that the homelink buttons look very nice in the visor. This is what I have been contemplating for a couple of weeks now.

I just completed this mod a couple of hours ago. It lives up to its billing: fast, easy, and cool as hell. I wired my remote to the passenger side lights in about 15 minutes, faster than one of my friends could read his owner's manual to figure out how to program the built-in controls for his new Passat.

Thanks, Kwando, for bringing this page to everyone's attention.

You wired it to the passanger map light? That is a pretty cool idea. I was concerned that everytime I had my high beams on that my garage door opener would be sending out signal.

Nevermind. I just read your post in the Arizona forum and understand that you located the garage door opener behind your passanger headlight. Pretty cool idea though.

taylor01 how often do you use your highbeams near your house? I am sure your range can't be that long.

Thanks

That is true. I just wasn't sure if it was an issue when you are driving down the road with your high beams on.
