Default Tires don't chirp.

Stupid question but I'm curious.

When shifting into 2nd gear while driving spiritedly my tire do not chirp like every other S2000.

Instead the rear breaks traction for about a half second to a second. I can feel the back end going back and forth.

My tires are the stock S-02 with great tread (green on the tire card honda has given me)

This is during very dry weather by the way. Do the S-02's just not chirp?

check your alignment and your tire pressures. if the rear end swings while you are shifting hard, it could be that the tires DO, in fact, chirp, but the alignment is so horribly off that you would actually start sliding.. thats exactly what was wrong with my car when i first bought it, any 9k shifts resulted in the rear end swinging dangerously outward. had my alignment done to proper specs and the sliding stopped.

It means you don't have enough POWA!!! Put a CAI or supercharger or turbo in it and you'll hear it.

I assumed it was because I had more power if my tires are spinning longer.

Just checked the tires over and there is no nail.

What should the correct pressure be?

I think I'm going to wait untill I get ap2 rims for an alignment.

i have 290ft/lbs of torque and don't usually break the tires loose in a 1-2 shift. I also have a 9lb flywheel and 6 puck, and the car feels to break loose or at least dig down for a sec, if that makes any sense...

This is not the reason.

As others have said, bad alignment or tires.
