Default Tires Rubbing?!?!?!

Hey guys... just wanted to know if anyone else here has experienced this. When making a U-turn with the wheel all the way to the left, there is this noise which I THINK is the front right tire rubbing against something. Or is this something else I am hearing? Like the power steering or something? I can't differentiate if its the tire rubbing or not. Any info much appreciated....

Are your spring spacers out of the car FOR SURE? They are used for shipping and if left in can cause a slight rub. Had some one PM me about this a year or so ago. Look in the FAQ section.

Maybe some plastic body panel is loose. I can't imagine you would have any rubbing problems on stock rims, tires, and suspension.

It might not be the tire rubbing. When I make u-turns, I hear a weird ringing noise sometimes. People tell me that it's normal since we have an LSD. You might be hearing that and mistaking it for the tire rubbing.

By the way, we don't have power steering fluid in this car. We have electric steering.

Hi guys:

It is normal to hear the rear end give you a GRRRR as you are starting out from a full lock left or right.

If you stay in the turn doing a circle it will stay, but usually louder if you are on the throttle. It is the gears and washers in the LSD.

Hope this helps,
Woodwork

Thanks for all the info guys. I know we dont have power steering, but I didnt know what was involved with the digital. I dont know if it makes sounds like power steering or what. Anyhow, I figured out what the noise was. My tires seem to be rubbing against the little mud flap or whatever at the bottom of the wheel well when making a u turn. Its the little flap in front of the wheel well all the way at the bottom. Any of you guys know if I can remove this piece? It looks like it wont harm anything.. but just wanna make sure...

They just unscrew but you should check the rubbing source again, it is mathmatically impossible to hit the strakes with the tires.
