Default Tochigi production speed

Anyone know how many S2000's roll off the line per day?

762,412.6

Actually, I think that guess is a bit on the high side.

It must be something on the order of 100/day. I'm guessing that from production numbers of about 6000 fro the US market, roughly half of world production for this car, and that the factory actually produced the car for about 125 days for the first half of 2001. (25 weeks, 5 days/wk). Someone doubtless can come up with a better figure...

In an early Road&Track article (12/98 or so) they quoted Tochigi's maximum possible production of S2Ks at about 20-25,000 annually, with about half that number expected in the first year (and half THAT number expected for the U.S.). As it happened, I think they ramped up a bit to help meet the extreme demand in MY2000, but they don't seem to have increased production rates since.

Just got back from the Factory in Japan. The factory is designed to build 100 cars per day but they are only making a 50 per day. It takes two days to build a single car. They are also building one NSX per day and about 30 Insights (Hybrid).

The assembly line is pretty amazing...too bad they don't allow photo's in the factory.

100 S2000's a day? Or 100 cars in total (Your figures suggests 81 at the moment),

20,000 a year / 365 = 54.8, so assuming days off, 50 a day might be their maximum, if you see what I mean!
