Default Tonneau Cover

Hello all, 1st post here. Just bought and picked up my 2003 AP1 with hardtop and totally loving it! Quick question, does anyone know if the car came stock with a tonneau cover? Seems to be the only thing missing with the car I purchased. The top will stay down 100 percent of the time as this will not be driven all that much. I think it will look so much cleaner with a cover over the retracted top since it will always be down. I definitely need one. Thanks in advance!

I found mine on e-bay. I have it on from March to roughly November, when the top comes back up when the car is parked in the winter.

there is the factory semi hard cover which is very neat can be found on ebay often., but if traveling with the top down and things in the trunk, good luck having a full trunk and removing and stowing the cover. There is a vinyl option, while it tucks in at the front of the trunk which is about the only place to secure it. it does cover the top. May or may not fit your needs.

Hey, welcome. It is something that normally came with the vehicle when purchased new. If you are interested in one, I have one and will let it go rather cheap if you’re willing to pay for the shipping.

The cover came with the cars when new. Gives the car a very finished look and keeps a portion of the open roof clean -- while the entire interior gets dirty with the roof down. Took me an inordinate amount of time to put on the car (one time); admired it, and put it back in the bag. It will store in the trunk but pretty much uses up all the space so carrying it doesn't work for me. I bought my car used in 2014 so it's only been in the loft over the garage for 6 years, not 17 like @robb .

Would have been nice to have a real tonneau cover like my olde Brit sports cars (Triumphs and MGs) that covered the entire cockpit but in actuality these were only there because it took several minutes to snap and button the roof up.

S2000 roof goes up/down in six (6) seconds: pull out of the garage and drop the roof, drive to work and put the roof up to avoid dirt, leaves, bird poop, and sun, roof down to drive to lunch, back up afterwards, roof down for the drive home, maybe back up in the garage. Tonneru cover useless with my use.

^^^I had one of those on an MG I had. They were nice and it gave you the option of unzipping the middle and only exposing the driver's side.

and keeping you warm in the cooler temps, when you just had to have the top down..but airflow was more turbulent on British cars than the S2K...full tonneau covers do look good.

I ended up buying the top cover which I posted above, mainly if traveling and want to be able to cover the top, but not have to worry about where the heck to put the OEM cover when it rains.
