Default Tonneau cover pain

Is there any difference a tonneau for AP1 vs AP2. I had an ‘04 and it was an easy install. Now i have an ‘07 and it seems to be impossible. I let it set in the sunshine so it would be loose & pliable. No success. I can easy get the 2 snaps on the sides, BUT, I can’t get my hand down to reach the 2 snaps in the back. I also have a set of plastic interior tools, but no help there. Do any AP2 owners have a magical way to reach those 2 snaps & secure the cover. Thanks.

It sounds like the top is not folding all the way down causing a tight fit with the cover. Might want to invest in some new Modifry elastic straps or at least help the top down and press down on it before you place the cover in position.

I might add that when you do get the tool or your fingers on the pull snap, push down on the cover over the snap to relieve any pressure on it. With too much strain on it, the snap will almost lock in place making it difficult to remove.

Good suggestion. When there is a warm day again in Indiana , I will give it a try. Just got car back from detail with PPF installed on front & total ceramic. They also treated the top & I want that to rest before I lower the top.

When my top is folded down this is what it looks like. Easy to get my hand under and pull the snap with a little push from above. I might add I have a thick Thinsulate layer on top of the plastic rear window shelf and it still compresses this well.
