Default Toolkit?

Does a toolkit come with the S2000? I see under the trunk floor, there is a jack, and whatever else is needed to change a flat tire. Inside the square opening, surrounded by the jack and jack handle is left open. I feel like inside the square opening/compartment, there should be a toolkit there. Should there be something inside the square compartment, like a toolkit?

This is my first posting, so bear with me if I don't things the correct way. Plus I don't know how I would get me answer back, so I left my e-mail address on the bottom for any responses.

Thanks,

Yup, you will get answers. Welcome to the fray!

It's been a few months since I have seen my S2K due to winter storage but I am sure there is nothing in the square cut out. Incidently my tow ring is missing from the cut out in the trunk space. I will be sh!t out of luck if I need a tow.

You are still an enthusiast I see. Have you been lurking here long? Are you planning a purchase, or have you not registered your VIN?

Bobby

There is an eyelet tow hook - no tools that i know of. I have tools in my garage.

Really, who is going to use the towhook, and what repairs can one make on a car like this by the side of the road anyway>

I did once replace a distributor by the light of the moon in BF Egypt once - my 454 1972 LS5 Vette kept frying Mallory unilites, so I was dead by the side of the road out in the boondocks. I did not want to leave such a valuable restoration for obvious reasons, so my Pal ran by my garage, picked up a reliable mechanical distributor (with mechanical tach drive no less). and we installed it. We set base timing by "feel", and when i checked it later, it was within 2 deg of spec! Mallory ended up buying back the Unilites, as I went through 4 of them! Seems the heat at the back of the engine bay was too intense - not much space with the huge Rat motor stuffed in there.

Thank you about the "toolkit". Yes I just bought a new 2004 S2000 from the broker, but I didn't know nor I expect the broker to know if a toolkit comes with the car. Otherwise I would go back to the broker and have them approach the dealer who supplied the car to give me the toolkit that comes with the car.

I had hesitation about buying a 4 cylinder car as opposed to other cars that cost almost the same but with an extra 2 cylinder. I'm impressed with the car I bought it for my wife.
