top down in mid 50 degree
Living in Ottawa Canada, if I only had the top down when it was warm outside, I'd have the top down infrequently. And I don't have a convertible because I'm a sun worshipper. I have it because I love the sense of being "in" the environment when I drive, not being in a sealed pod passing through the environment. So, day or night, and in a variety of weather, the top is down. If it is cold outside, that's what jackets and gloves are for. Nobody taunts motorcycle drivers for being out at night or for riding in cold weather, so what possible difference could it make if we are out in those conditions with the top down?

Mid 50's or so? Not bad at all. I just wear a light to medium jacket and something to cover my ears. If they get cold, I'm miserable.
Anyway, the heater seems to keep up with that, no problem. I an tolerate another 10 degree colder with the windows up. That does a lot to hold the heat in the passenger compartment. Too much cooler than that and I chicken out.

I don't see anything wrong with the top down at night, I do it all the time and nobody has ever said anything to me.
