That's terrible! It's sad and unfortunate that individuals who do these sort of things especially due to jealousy don't think anything of it...

I live in an apartment complex, have no garage but had to pay $50 extra a month just to park my S under a lighted carport (Definitely prone for more thieves to see) but at least my window is facing directly at it...And if need be, I have a .308 sniper rifle..........just in case No one dare come near my S! (

Hope everything works out for you and DON'T get rid of your S2K!!!!

they had no reason to break in.
Unfortunately, your seats & shift knob are probably enough to lure someone to slash the top. We've seen it waaaaaaaaaaay too much here in So Fla.

Get the seat locks (if you don't have them already), along w/ the window stickers that say you have seat locks! An alarm's a good idea too at this point, but a garage is even better.

Sorry to hear about this!

That sucks Don't sell your car, just put some cameras up with motion detector. Install signs to let the crooks know to get lost or pay the piper.

Edit: By the way... I think there are "soft-top" or canvas repair kits that may be able to hold you over till you can get this fixed. They probably include some patches of canvas and some sort of sealant (silicone or something). I'm not sure where you'd find something like this. Maybe a detailing store.
An upholstery shop will be able to take care of this.

Get a hard top.

Install some motion-sensor spotlights in the area, with a dummy or real(if you can hack it) Video surveillance system. all the other suggestions are good too, but the motion sensor stuff will probably deter most people from continuing. you might try wiring the motion sensor lighting outside to turn on some interior light about 10 seconds later, so it will look like you woke up and are moving to check the area. I'm sure someone would be able to set this up for you.

So:
1.) Motion activated lighting.
2.) Proximity sensing Alarm
3.) Seat Locks and adverisement
4.) Hardtop
5.) Baseball Bat

Then you'd be A-ok. Sorry to hear it, my accord has been broken into twice to steal my stereo. Bitches. I hope they all rot in hell.

You could fill the interior with water and keep Pihrannas in it. Hmm, might make it tough to drive...

Theft like that makes me furious.

The first rule they teach you about using any weapon is: Don't use a weapon unless you are 100% confident that your opponent will not take it away from you and then use it on you. This applies to guns, baseball bats, knives, to just a brick. So think twice about using a weapon.
