what is the top speed on an s2000 or whats the fastest you ve guys have gone

 

i hear of 150mph. has anybody gone any faster in their s2000

 

I've personally seen 154 mph, with some room on the tach for more (when my car was stock) ...

However ... you don't want to ride all the way up to the redline in 6th ... it's not at all good for the car.

I downloaded a video of an S2000 doing 281 kmh (~174 mph ... assuming his speedo and tach were calibrated) ... pretty wicked. The link I found is broken now, unfortunately.

I've hit 162mph stock, but it seems drag limited at that speed. i was also on a VERY slight decline.

top speed gearing with more hp, however, will get you redlined 6th gear at around that 173mph mark. i have that top speed video where the guy went 281kph

 

Any information on the '05? Seems like it's at about 75mph at 4000rpm in sixth, which would imply that it might be rev limited.

 

Ive got an 04, it went all the way up to 160 before i let off. The red was flashing but it wasnt bouncing on the limiter yet. It was a fun night. Me and two other guys (one in an e46 m3 and another in an e36) all did top speed runs at the same time. The e46 showed 179 before he let off and the e36 did 154 (its chipped).

You of course have to factor in speedometer errors and such, but yeah we were all haullin major a$$.

 

I've not gone beyond 146 on the speedo, ran out of road. The car was still pulling, albeit slowly.

 

not to go off topic of the thread here..but a quick question since you mentioned a little of what im about to ask. at 70mph in 6th gear. what is the 04' S rpm sitting at?

 

By calculation, about 3700. If I remember I will check on the way to work tomorrow.
