Wanabe, I had my clutch disk replaced under warranty-
Ask your dealer about the updated clutch disk.

Wantabe,

We maybe get together and talk to one service manager and have replace our stinking clutches. When they did my 1/2 grind they did not replace the clutch. Now that nasty noise is starting to occur during acceleration in second gear not just deceleration.

Yep, top down is the way to go.

I agree with the comments about the Stook not being a pleasant vehicle with the top up. As well as being claustrophobic it is just so darned noisy at high speed. I have looked at the soft top liners available from Giampiero but frankly at $US400+ that's a lot of money, espec by the time you ship it to Oz.

Has anyone discovered a cheap and effective alternative for cutting down wind noise (and I don't want to hear turn up the stereo or get a set of earplugs )

that's part of my mantra! top down at all times! in fact, drove through a passing storm in the city tonite with the top down! luckily i was driving fast enough so as to avoid getting the interior wet.

it can be 40 degrees and foggy by the coast, and i'll still have the top down--but i'm also a maniac....

I had also forgotten how noisy the car is with the top up. To overcome the blindspot, I usually drive with the driver side window down no matter how cold it is outside.

i still only have 1500 miles on the car... cant imagine that they really would replace the clutch with this low of mileage (i only notice the noise top-up)- but i sure will ask when i take it for its first oil change. i will take it to norm reeves in cerritos, since they included the first few services for no charge. look forward to meeting you with mark someday- we have been talking about a january/stook lunch meet, which we will post on this board too.
