Default Top Window Switch

What year did they switch from plastic to glass. Are any of the previous models glass, like did they switch right in the middle of the model year, or are all of each model years the same, like for example are all 2001's plastic, or are some glass and some plastic. any help would be great.

To clarify, yeah all '00 and '01 came with plastic. All '02 and up came with glass.

If you find a '00 or '01 with glass, then it's been retro-fitted.

Ok thanks alot guys, im going to be a future member of the S2k community soon, ive been planning on buying a Berlinna Black 02, one of my neighbors is selling it, but ive never really checked them out, and my brother told me that they all had plastic, but ive looked at it before and it looked like glass...now i know why.

I have a 2003 M3 right now, but i dont really want another BMW, i dont like the Z4, and i want a roadster, is the S2k a good choice for just a weekend car, i mean, can i let it sit 5-6 days a week?

You can try!

Before you know it, you'll have made the M3 your weekend car.

You can let it sit (in fact, some people here let their car sit all winter), but you wouldn't want to. The whole point of buying the S2k is to

Have you ever driven an M3, you wouldnt be saying that if you had, i just want a nice clean roadster thats not to expensive to maintain, and has good reliability, thats a honda as far as im concerned, and i hear thier a blast to drive. but nothing is like an M. Not any car ive ever driven.

^Sure you can drive one everyday. The torque will feel lacking compared to the M3, but other than that, it'll be fine. I've daily driven my '02 for several years now and it's doing fine at nearly 81k miles.
