Default Torque?!?!?!

The most common complaint for the S seems to be the lack of torque before V-TEC. My question is ,does it make sense to use a V-TEC controller and just dail down the engagement point ,would this be a quick fix so to speak??

Thanks , Daniel

No, that would dramatically lower the torque where you already have so very little.

VTEC is used to optimize the engines performance below 6000rpm as well as above.

If you want significant low-end torque swap gears or do some serious head work. All the bolt ons or V-afc's will not mod it into a torque monster. It's not a good idea to lower the VTEC engagement anwhere in the 4K zone that would be dangerous and you would be losing hp.

i'm no pro, but I thought a turbo would prolly give you more mid to high end power...b/c of turbo lag and all...wouldn't a supercharger be more for the low end torque? again, i could be totally wrong.

SC for the S2K improves the high end only.

I dont understand how it all works. I looked at the dyno of an SC'ed S2K compared to a stock S2K, before 6K RPM, the curves looked pretty much the same, but after 6K, the SC'ed S2K's curve just went crazy.

You wanted torque ? You've bought the wrong car mate...

try a Golf PD150...sooo rewarding to drive and whollops of torque at 1800 rpm
