Default Torque steer?

Picked up a black/black 2004 S2000 today... had to fly to Vancouver to get it, and drive it 800km home. Super nice, and better than I expected. One question though... when I step on it then shift, it almost seems like the car has torque-steer... but of course it isn't... but it kind of 'twists' a bit when I am on the gas hard. There is no wheel spin or anything... so I can't see the LSD being a factor... it doesn't pull or anything at cruise, you can take your hands off it and it goes straight... but I hit it, and it jumps to the right...

Is this normal?

I've been up about 24 hours now... but a tire issue does make sense... I'll check in the AM and let you know.

When I had 15 psi in my left rear tire I would be going squiggley all over the road too when I stomp the gas. Definitely check that out. Had my puzzled for the longest time.

k

it is the result of the LSD and rear tires that are a different size. It likely twists when you chop the throttle too. If you wrap a tape measure around the tires you likely will get a different circumference. Air pressure can do that. So can different wear rates or brands of tires. Finally tires worn at a different rate could be the result of driving style but is more likely from the rear alignment being out. If air pressure doesn't fix it.do alignment next.if still not fixed buy new rear rubber. I had a 2004 that would not accelerate straight until I did all 3. Hope this helps.

I got it at the Audi dealer in Richmond. A local trade but originally a Cali car. 2 owners... Was a lease in the US and then transplanted to Vancouver...

If it gets above freezing today I will give it a scrub.

Don't understand the title of this thread. Torque steer is a phenomenon associated with fwd cars. Obviously, an S2K is a rwd car.
