Default totaly new gear knob??!!

Have any of you seen an s2000 that had the gear sock taken out, and had a grill put in, like in a ferrari or lamborghini. I think that this might look nicer, to just have a grill type of thing, that holds the gear knob.

You mean a gated shift plate that forces you into the right slot when you shift? People complain about them on Ferraris, if I'm not mistaken.

I had the thrill of driving an old Dino once with the shift gates.....major pain in the ass, because you had to look down at the shifter alot.

The Ferrari transmissions back then and up to a few years ago were not as precise as the current Honda ones. The metal gates actually did guide the shifter. If you had a metal gate on a Honda/Acura, it would be there for show really - because the shift path is defined internally.

Only problem would be the bulge of the shifter! The shifting might be so precise the the gate will only be a hair thick!

Our shifter is about an inch and a half thick. you'd have to replace it.
