I grew up on Lake Erie and used to sail my dad's sailfish. I had a Chrysler Dagger on the inland lakes in Michigan, but sold it after my late wife's accident in the mid-90s. I prefer sailing on big water (well, the Great Lakes instead of little inland lakes) and now rely on friends who have a Hunter 27 for when I need a fix.

That's a fun boat, used to have 1 that I sailed on Lake Champlain, I had roof racks to haul it around.

i owned a laser for many, many years. The hull is 130 lbs. the rigging another say 50. your trailer is likely about 200 lbs. So, under 400 lbs total. See what you can tow with your S.
