Thumbs up Track/Daily Driver help

Starting to mod my S2k after 3K miles on it First I want to change the flywheel. I need help who has the best flywheel to work with the stock clutch thats not too expensive around $300? And would work great as a daily driver and some track events. I only have one car so its my DD but I love tracking the car. until now my car has been all stock but I'm starting to mod it up a little. I'm still in school so don't have a huge budget yet. My plans

1: Greddy TI-C single
2: Intake IDK what yet help me plzzz something under 300
3: Berk 3" TP
4: Skunk2 springs
5: Toda cams heard great things about this.
6: I trust you guys will help me make my list a little better so don't hesitate to write.

honestly, if you're tracking and on a budget, i'd stay as much stock as possible with the obvious exceptions of pads/fluids/tires.

i don't car what their reputation/track record/JDMness is, they dont have millions of R&D into the car as honda does.

your DD and on a budget, so risking failure of aftermarket parts is silly.

Stock cam is perfect for a track/dd car. You don't need an aftermarket cam unless you're increasing compression ratio and doing an all motor build.

I read that toda has a pair of cams that add midrange power without any work needed on the engine and actually gains good power. I am not sure if this is 100% true but I thought I would ask.

you can get a stock ap1 flywheel for cheap. has the perfect feel imo. rpm's drop quickly compared to an ap2 but not too quickly. unless you want to spend $400-$500 on a lighter flywheel. make sure you remove the CDV on the slave cylinder.

1. that is fine.. 70mm single exhaust will get you some power.
2. under $300? stick with a tube-style intake(aem v2, fujita, etc.) or a k&n fipk.
3. i don't think they make a 3". they do make a 70mm, i think, and it should be perfect for your setup. btw, 3"=76mm
4. lowering springs? personally, i'd invest in some coilovers if i were to track it.
5. don't forget to upgrade your valve springs and retainers. you'll need some sort of engine management as well. greddy emu or aem ems. i've been down this road before and it gets expensive pretty quickly. i'd stick with stock cams.
6. if it were my car, i wouldn't start throwing parts at it yet. what kind of racing will you be doing? auto-x? hpde? if it's competetive racing you're gonna be doing, find the class you want to run in and build your car to fit those rules/restrictions.

yers, i understand that the parts list you have are of parts that are not very prone to failure. i'm just putting it out there that modding-tracking-budget-DD is not a great idea.

otherwise, good luck on the track.

+1.
a stock car is still a lot of fun on the track. no need to buy any mods to track your car.

Mono8123, if you like to track and are on a limited budget, I think you'd get the most fun and benefit from spending your mod $ on track time, not mods. Spend 5 minutes before a track day to pull your passenger seat out and remove the stock airbox cover. You'll be a bit lighter and louder, but a lot faster 'round the track.
