Default Track day on a S2k?

Will most track let a topless s2k run on the track without a aftermarket rollbar or hardtop? I want to sign up to some track driving school this summer and just wanted to know what's the policy on topless cars.

Varies track to track. Top up or down won't matter; the proble is if you need a roll cage or not.

I know at autocrosses they make you put the top down.

Track rules vary. The roll bar or no roll bar rule can also be affected if you are running street tires or race tires.

Yeah we generally allow S2000s with street tires only unless a rollbar is installed. Shivers knows that since he knows who "we" are

Pretty sure the top down thing is for visibility. We got one nasty blind spot with the top up.

.. can't even imagine how limited the visibility would be in this car with the top up AND a helmet

I always do track days with the top up. For a couple reasons. First, the reduced drag helps me go faster. (129mph top up, 120mph top down at Texas World Speedway.) Second, the reduced buffeting is much less distracting, allowing me to concentrate better on my driving.

All organizations I've done DE's and autocrosses with here in Texas have allowed stock S2000s, top up or down.

they ask you to be topless for safety reasons.
