Traction control??
I've driven a BMW 528i in the snow, WITH traction control on. Damn thing is nearly impossible. It took me about 5 minutes to go up this 7 yard slope, manual transmission too, so I can't imagine what all those pansies with automatics are doing.

Yes, it does have an LSD, as mentioned above. That has absolutely nothing to do with traction control.
LSD (limited slip diff) is a mechanical device that prevents one wheel from spinning without the other one going along for the ride. Have a friend in an old '68 camaro with a 327 smallblock and no LSD demonstrate what happens when you DON'T have it... the 3000 foot, one-wheeled burnout is a classic.
Traction control is computer aided control of wheel slip as detected by the computer, and resolved as the computer sees fit by applying brakes, backing off the throttle, etc.
