Trade in?
I am looking to trade in my 2013 Ford Focus Titanium with 35k miles on the odo for a 2005 s2000 with 88 on the odo. I currently owe 9k on my Focus. I was wondering what you guys think about this car: http://mitsubishistpeters.fusz.com/u...97ecde9f02.htm
It has been on the lot since May, the weather coming up and the fact that a Focus is easier to sell than an s2000 I feel like I can come out pretty decent on the trade. Input would be more than welcome.

All the photos are so conveniently focused in that in the shots where the VIN stickers would show up they are just slightly out of visible range.
If all ten VIN stickers are in place and haven't been painted over I'd say it's a decent asking price but nothing special. I highly doubt they are all there though. Plus looking at the Carfax and seeing a whopping 5 previous owners would make me turn and walk away personally. There are far better examples out there to be had if you just stay patient and keep looking. There is a reason, or likely multiple reasons, why that car has been on the lot since May.

They did start that asking price at over 18k which is pretty high. Ever month they seem to drop it in price. They just lowered it to 16k. I have been watching it for a pretty long time. I was going to go in and ask if they would do a straight trade and drop my car loan to 6k. Also what is this 10 vin numbers thing you are talking about?
Edit: Did a search and found info:
Is this a pretty common thing in the s2000 world to paint over them?
Edit: Did a search and found info:
10 VIN stickers total:
4 under the hood: 1 each fender, 1 underside of hood, 1 front bumber on a little lip
2 in each door "well": one on either side of the door jamb (one on the rear fender piece, one on the swinging door piece)
2 in the trunk: 1 underside of trunk lid, one on the little lip of the rear bumper that points to the trunk
They're pretty obvious. Each is ~3 inches long by 1 inch tall and they're white.

Carfax has a report available for free. I'm not sure why, maybe the dealer paid for it. Looks like it has a clean title (or at least nothing has been reported).

The dealer does link to the carfax on there website. If you where in my situation and they came down to the 6k would you pull the trigger? or what would they have to do to get you to pull the trigger?

Currently there is an 2008 35k miles going for 14800. Going to see if I can sell my car and maybe grab that one.

Not sure what you plan on doing with the car afterwards, but '06+ with the traction control is worth it. Also with the new ECU it's much easier to tune than earlier year cars.
I was looking at '06-'07, new ECU / drive-by-wire but pre-TPMS for the wheels. Hated the brake dust on my AP2v2 wheels, the v3's ('08+) were much easier to keep clean.

I have a ton of stuff I want to do with it, lowered, turbo, basically one hell of a track car. I'm 23 have no kids, plan to have no kids for at least 8 years. I make decent money, and don't have an expensive hobbies. I have wanted this car for a long time and finally its attainable. I just have to sell mt Focus, sadly it was in an accident last year when I slid off the road after snowboarding. Car was only old. So I am afraid it may be hard to sell. I had the car fully repaired/repainted the car only had body damage but I can understand peoples fear.
