I just don't like the ass of the z convertible. It looks like it too high. I drove a 350z convertible some years back and man, you cant see anything behind the bumper. Hope theres no kids or pets crossing while reversing. Definitely like the 370 non convert tho.

Agreed on get what makes you happy. Of course the s2k forum is not going to support giving up a s2k for a 370z. I'm sure you knew what our answer would be.

Compared to the S2000, its going to feel large, cant see over the big hood. Take a wile to turn in with confidence and not feel like your guessing where your front wheels are going. I would never want to work on/maintain a 370 either. A tuned S2k is not slow, its fun. But if you still feel it needs more, then go FI. Its so hard to beat the s2k platform. Its the kind of car that doesn't come along too often, where you buy and keep forever if you can, either adding to it or using as your primary fun car. Ive had mine for over 12 years and i still have a blast with it every time I get in. Its not stock anymore, and maybe thats part of the trick to keeping ones interest, but with a few things done, its so hard to beat, at any price point!

whatever you wind up doing, DO NOT trade your car to the dealer, unless they offer you damn good money, sell it privately

an 04 with that low mileage and if its clean, is worth a decent amount to a lot people, the dealer will probably pay you nothing and try to sell it for 23-25k

dont do it. tuning an s with simple bolt ons is much MUCH funner than a z. and with 23k miles... jesus thats rare! dont do it!! AND you have a motor that will last forever. a small 4 cylinder than could go around 700whp with a turbo like nothing with just injectors and the tune. z's wont go anywhere. just save up for one later on.
