Default Trading Old for New at Dealer

Maybe I'm thinking too much here (rare), but if I would trade my MY02 for new MY05 at a dealer (maybe in off-season or I just don't want the hassle of selling) should I put original springs back on car? Would a dealer have a problem with suspension mods or use an excuse for lowballing the offer? I also have Konis on car which would have to stay as the mounting points had to be "adjusted".
Thanks
John

i would de-modify it b/c dealers always look for a way to give you the lowest price for the car, they do not like modified cars anyways b/c when they turn around and sell it they will have to warranty the aftermarket parts as well which makes them very hesitant

Yeah but dealers are such slime. They will turn around after telling you it decreases the value and tell a potential customer that the lowered suspension improves handling and actually increases the value of the car.

It's a PITA but I'd say pull it. They'll work in the new 05 anyway right? One less thing to buy.

Pull it an put it on the new car. It'll be worth the hassle in the end.

Since you're getting the same car, wouldn't it make sense to put the old one back to stock so you could transfer the parts to the new one?

i say pull it. dealerships will give you less in trade due to mods, then they will sell it for more

Mods or not, the dealer will try to low-ball you. The S should be very easy to sell unless you have something seriously wrong with it. Even if you are in a hurry to sell just post it for the trade-in value plus the tax. At least then you make someone happy.

Cheers

Thanks to all. And that's a great point, 'Smooth. Even in the "off-season" I should be able to sell it for dealer trade price plus tax on the new car. It's in great shape.
