Default trading for a s2000

Hey I am trading my 04 wrx in for an 04 s2000. I was wondering if this seemed like a legit dealership/car to you guys. I would be driving 400 + miles for this car so I just wanted to see what you guys thought. Also, it has a clean carfax.

if it is that red one, it sounds like a good deal. The dealer is semi local to me, but I bet if you posted in the mid-west section, and there was a member close to it they would check it out for you.

I have one question, the front bumper seems to be resprayed, no? On the AP2 front bumpers isn't there usually some black inbetween the inner splitters or whatever? Take a look at the front of it, it is solid red with no black between the inner splitter and the bumper.

Look at the inner part of the front bumper:
Here is the one that I am looking at:

And here is someone else's AP2

The front splitter on the white one looks different but I can't really tell from the angle of the first one.

Yup, that bumper's been resprayed. The bumper ducts are unpainted from the factory.

It could be that the previous owner didnt like the black plastic deals in there. Could mean it was crashed and repaired. If you could take the bumper off you might be able to see if anything is damaged under the bumper.

I plan on trading my 2007 camry for an S2K in the near future. I am hoping I can get 15k for the Camry from the dealer. I paid 23k for it last June.

I would examine it closely for signs of collision repair/repaint. Could be that the previous owner just painted the black "ducts", but it's more likely that the bumper was replaced/repaired at some point and an unknowing bodyshop guy didn't tape off the ducts. That wouldn't necessarily deter me from the car if a deal was to be had, but I would inspect it a lot more closely.

Ouch, couldn't you just sell it private party for like 20k? I thought the whole reason you buy a Camry was for its high resell value?
