Default "Training Wheels"

Bieg's recent post "The Driving Gloves" reminded me of an article I once wrote for an MG publication. So I dusted it off and scanned it.
Another trip down memory lane.........

My 1st car was a spitfire purchased from a good friend for $100. I couldn't drive a car back then as i had only owned and driven motorcycles! WE raced down from a low $$ registration in new hampshire back to new york city and home when the engine blew in upstate new york from pounding it too hard on the trip down!!
so long triumph spitfire. This had to be the briefest time that i ever owned a car!

If it hadn't been for a couple quick snaps by my parents I wouldn't have pictures of the car.

Bieg, Cool picture. And, I see you're wearing the "right" uniform -- GO WINGS!

My chest may have fallen to around my waist and my black hair turned gray but the good 'ole days have returned.

Your article sent me searching the web for Spitfire images. I found this beauty.
Gosh, I'm jealous that you got a 40 year head start on me on living the fantasy.
