Default tranny problem :( anyone?!

Grrr.. so I'm going down the highway today.. and a bike comes up next to me.. i wanted to run with him just to hear the engines screaming into the upper rpm limits.. so I slow down.. going 50ish.. drop to 2nd.. redline at ~65.. redline 3rd going like ~85 ish.. i go to drop it into 4th.. it grinds horribly and then I go to just throw it into 6th.. (clutch all the way back in..) and it grinds horribly again.. wtf.. so then i throw it in 5th.. after that when I went to throw it back in 6th.. it wouldnt let me out of 5th.. it was like.. stuck.. finally with a little muscle it came out.. and went into 6th.. from there on 5th gear is "sticky" its requires more strength to get it in and out than all the rest..

warranty till 2008>*

oh yeah.. and 5th gear seems perfectly fine when I'm doing 100+.. this has happened once before as well..

has anyone else came across this prob? or heard of it?

Go to the nearest ICU at the nearest HOnda dealership to get that checked...

i havea question. I seem to get the second gear grind, but it only seems to happen when I'm downshifting to 2nd from 3rd. It goes down into the position, but not quite all the way, but stays down near the 2nd gear position. I hear the revs raise, but no power. SO it's not in gear. If I try to push it into gear, grind....I have to go to neutral and then go back again. ANyone have this problem?

time for a tranny rebuild....synchs are shot. Since you have the warranty you will be ok. You might have to replace the clutch too if it is not releasing fully.

If I redline my car in 1st or 2nd and then try to shift to 5th or 6th, it grinds bad and 5th is hard to shift into/out of for a day or 2 but then it is fine again. So I dunno...I had a dealer rebuild it once during warranty and they replaced the bearing and stuff, but it still does it. I just think its something with the S2000's transmission.

Talk to your dealer. There is a TSB dealing with the 5th gear issue. It is different than TSB 55 that covers the 2nd gear grind. Basically involves greasing the linkage. You are not the only one to experience this problem, and in my opinion, Honda has not adequately addressed it.
