マフラー開発にあたって
S2000のエンジン回転数は一般的な車と 違って、9000回転までも回わる車です 例えば6000回転程度までしか回らな 車と、9000回転も回る車では使う回転 域(範囲)が違ってくるので、着目 なければならない回転数が変わって ます。6000回転程度まで回る車であ たら、よく使われる回転域はある一 域に近いですが、S2000ではどうでし うか?
街乗り程度では3000回転付近をよく使 と思いますが、サーキット走行など のスポーツ走行ではどうでしょうか 8000回転付近がよく使われる域 と思 います。この二つの回転域のトルク 生を両方とも良くしたいですが、マ ラーの流速が違いすぎる為に、どち らかを妥協するようになってしまい す。その為、高回転重視サーキット けマフラー、または低回転重視スト リートマフラー、このようなマフラ 特性はどこのメーカーさんでも作ら てきました。

一般的なS2000用マフラーの特性
高回転重視>高回転でのパワーが出 も、低回転ではトルクの落ち込みが る。3500回転付近でのこもり音の発 。
低回転重視>街乗り範囲ではトルク ップで乗りやすくなっても、高回転 全体的な)パワーが減少。
1本出し>パワーは出る方向 が、 音になってしまう。
2本出し>パワーが無い。

SSPマフラーではこれらの不満点を改 し、高回転トルク重視(8000回転付近 )としながらも、低回転トルク(3000 転付近)を妥協せずに り上げまし た。
インナーサイレンサーの価 は、一 的な物より高値 と思われると思い す。インナーサイレンサーの役目は 消音 けではありません。SSPマフラ の 合、消音効果よりも低速トルク 落ち込みを無くし、街乗り範囲でも 乗りやすくしました。また高回転重 マフラーの 点でもある3500回転付近 でのこもり音の発生。他社製品と比 てインナーサイレンサー無しでも低 できましたが、さらにインナーサイ レンサーを装着する事によって消す ができます。これらはSSPマフラー専 インナーサイレンサー けの特殊製 法によるものです。
材質には流行り(?)のチタンは使 ません。ステンレス製にも訳があり す。チタンは軽量ですが、静電気が 発生してしまうことでパワー抵抗に ってしまいます。
音質にはホンダVTECらしい高音質に拘 ました。管楽器を想像してみてく さい。出口が小径なのは管楽器と同 考え方です。大径では低音になって まうので、小径にすることで高音質 に仕上げました。
製法は職人による1本ずつの手作り 品で、溶接や曲げ方にはこ わりの 品です。

1と2の違いについて 単純に1本か2 本か けではありません。
1>2より3kg軽量。振り子の原理よ 、後部は軽量の方が良いです。イン ーサイレンサーを装着すると、2よ り高回転が 牲になる。
2>1より3kg増量。高回転域パワ は1と同等。1より音量が抑えられ る。さらにインナーサイレンサーの 着で静かになる。インナーサイレン ー装着時を1と比べると、2の方が 抵抗が少なく、高回転の効率が良く 牲が少ない。2の方が上品な高音質
