Default Transmission fluid

I was just wondering what transmission fluid you guys use?
I've heard of using MOBIL's TM? Is that what its called? I'm unsure of the actual name, so could someone help me out? Suggestions on other fluids you guys use would be very helpful also. Thanks in advance

You cant go wrong with the Honda MTF. 9 out of 10 S owners use this.

You can gain a real education in the "oil journals" of the technical forum on all lubricants for this vehicle. Road Rage and others have put a lot of time and effort into analyzing various products for us. Personally, I've had "good results" from Honda MTF. It's consistently "notchy" shifting from 1st to 2nd on initial warmup drive, but after that it's great. Some people have switched to GM Synchromesh FM with exceptional results. But some have reported that the improvements are only temporary.
On another topic, if you live in a moderate to hot climate, you may want to consider changing your differential fluid to LE 607. It appears to be the best (and possibly the only) 90W GL5 lubricant for our gearbox. LE 607 is available from a couple vendors on this website. Hope this helps.

The S comes stock with 90w GL5 in the diff, therefore LE 607 is not the only 90w GL5 gear oil. I personally use Mobil 1 75w-90 GL5 synthetic gear oil for my diff.

I believe you can find 80 or 90w GL5 gear oil.

Where have you been able to find stock 90W gear oil for the S for sale?

They were willing to sell me 2 quarts of it from their shop supply, but I went with the Mobil 1 75w-90 GL5.

Fantastic. The local dealers around here said there wasn't any and were offering Castrol 75-90W. They couldn't even find a part#. Next time you're at your dealer, would you ask for the Honda part#? Thanks.

There used to be a part # at various dealers but it was the wrong fluid. There has been documented diff failures because of that. My dealer uses bulk 90w GL5 in their shop. They offered to sell me two quarts, but I went with the Mobil 1.

Your better off using the Mobil 1 75w-90 or the LE 607 90w GL5 gear lubes.
