Dayves2K:

I looked at the specs on that product, and cannot believe they are correct. They spec the 40degC kinematic (they spelled it wrong by the way) vis at 10, and the 100degC at 4.4. That is unbelievably low, way below even ATF specs.

By comparison, Red Line's MTL (the thin stuff) is 40.8 and 10.2 at the same temperatures. MT-90 is 89.2/14.7.

Something is not right, but I would not use that stuff in my car. It has stated viscoity in the sewing machine oil range. Plus, NEO is a PAO as I recall, and while it is a good product, I don't see the attraction, plus for the same price I can get the real McCoy - an ester.

Actually, so far, so good...I've only got a couple hundred miles (on the GM fluid) but when it gets to temperature, my tranny's like butter. MY03 has always had the 2nd gear grind thing if I rush a shift, and a notchiness in third. All gone. Xviper, what is the proper change interval for the GM stuff? You should have seen the look on the service writer's face when he saw the "alien" fluid...You would have thought I asked them to put my first born's blood in the tranny....

I really can't say as it is a non OEM fluid. I would say, change it when the tranny "feel" and sound no longer suits you. For sure, do NOT exceed what it says in the manual (although this is somewhat long, IMO). I've gotten in the habit of changing out the tranny and diff fluid at the same time - annually in the spring.

i think you guys should play it safe and just stick with honda mtf, something that is KNOWN to be safe for our trannies. afterall, synchromesh IS designed for getrag(and/or truck) trannies. im staying away from that stuff for now. honda mtf

Redline MT-90 every 10,000 miles.

I'm sure the semi-synthetic Honda MTF can do the job but I'd rather have a full synthetic.
