Default Transparent Radio Door

search isn't working...

Wondering if anyone has been able to make part of the door transparent so a remote control will go through.

I made this myself, so I can keep the radio door closed.

I'm wondering if I should just buy a new door and give it a shot.

Did you just cut a hole and glue on some kind of transparent plastic?

Something like that...

The radio door surface is not completely flat; there's quite a bit of bondo work, inside and out, to make it look pretty. If you have time and patience, you can DO IT.

That's my problem, I'm not patient

I might just buy a new door and give it a shot, if I mess up, no big deal.

Not exactly. Just a dark silver metallic spray paint. In retrospect silverstone would've been a good choice...even though my S is not silverstone.

Why do you need the remote to go throught? <Wondering> Do you not have working dash controls using a PAC or DCI?

I have the working controls, however, you're limited to a few buttons (currently installed the PAC).

Currently I only have control over the volume and one button, which is my next (advances to next track / Seek on FM).

The mute is irrelevant and having the other button, I assume to switch between CD/FM wont do much good.

The huge plus of the PAC is the volume, which works fine.
