Default transporting soft top frame

Random question for you all...will the soft top frame (with soft top attached) fit in the passenger seat with the top down? If anyone has done this, please let me know how it went and any tips you may be able to provide would be appreciated!

Or if anyone knows the dimensions of the soft top frame, I could measure it out that way too.

Thanks!

I think it could. It would need to be angled of course and possibly interfere shifting and/or one end will be by your head or next to your head...

It's dangerous. Let's say you slam on the brakes or take a turn. It could potentially knock your face off. Plus maybe even slice up some other parts inside the car.

Not worth it. Get a hatchback at least!

Hmm, I wonder if it would be safer to remove the passenger seat and the plastic trim behind the passenger seat. I'm sure it would free up some room and since I need to take that out to replace the top anyway, it might be a good idea. Actually now that I think about it, I think this also opens it up to the spare tire area and even the trunk. Maybe I could wiggle it into that space and keep it lower/safer. Anyone try this method? Thanks for the response!

I tried this when I purchased a used soft top from a member. I was convinced, as were many of my fellow local s2ki members that it WOULD fit.

Well, it did "fit" without the passenger seat, but it stuck out above the windshield a good 2' and was a b**** to keep in place. Ended up not transporting it that way

I was holding it with my right arm, steering and shifting with my left. Dont waste your time.

Thanks for the response. I ended up having the seller bring it to me and I paid him gas money. Yeah, I decided that it would be dangerous to try and transport it so it worked out better in the end.
