Is this true?
I was talking about cars with an old friend of my. And he told me that there a kid where we live. Saying that on his 01 SI he change the V-tec setting so it who kick in at 2500 RPM. Can you really do this? If so is it a good idea? or is this Just Bull
Too bad there's no such thing as an 01 SI.

02-05 SI's i-vtec comes on around 2500 but its not the same as traditonal vtec.
99-00 SI's vtec you could change but the lowest I've seen that is "benificial" is 4000-4500. But of course you'd need a EMS or vtec controller. Most times they do more "harm" than good, if you don't know what you're doing.

You can set your vtec to kick in whenever the hell you want with a vtec controller. However, you're very likely to lose power unless you tune it on a dyno.
