so, one of the vents were bad, no seal?

I think I need to do a vent inspection.

When beginning my new enclosure install in the tool well, I removed the trunkliner to find some water. I discounted it to possibly spraying the hose in an upward fashion around the license plate. I guess I'll have to check this out.

Thanks for starting this thread!

One of the vent seals were bad

Are there any precautions to prevent damaging the seals?

I guess no one chimed in.

Don't spray water under the rear bumper from the rear plate, up and to the left. The water pressure will open the flap and allow water to collect under the tool well.

If you seal it up with silicon, the cabin will not vent as designed.

i just discovered the cause of my leak too! it was the vent seal! I suspected it was the area around the vent before, but i could never see any signs if major leakage.

i actually took out ALL my trunk liner for months to try to track it down but ended up taking out the passenger seat, the vent cover that opens up a hole to the trunk area, and had a lamp sitting in the trunk while a friend was spraying water from teh outside to find the leak!

i still couldn't find it but then i took out the vent piece and then sprayed water again and water came rushing in the hole where the vent was!

it was then i realized that the seal had gone bad and now i'm thinking of a way to stick a better more durable seal on the vent.

people have mentioned TWO vent holes, but i only see one.... are the north american verions of S2000's different?

I believe so. '00 - '03 only have one. I don't know about '04+.

Maybe Honda thinks we like stale air.
