Default Trunk Grommets, are they needed!

Guys,
I have recently removed my trunk liner in order to see how it looks. Everything seems to be very good.. It doesn't look like any leaks had been there before, but I realized that the following plugs are missing. The question is are they needed? Is it going to leak into the trunk, if I don't have them? Please let me know.

- PLUG, BLIND (15MM) - HONDA (95551-15000)

- PLUG, BLIND (11MM) - HONDA (95551-11000)

I'd imagine the grommets' only purpose is to protect you or the liner from the sharp edges of the metal? So no, I would not say they are that needed.

+1. I believe mine are empty as well. The carpet should go over that part...

I pulled my liner to install sound deadening material, looking at my pics, I don't think there was anything at position 3 & 4.

Thanks again guys. I just purchased a 1 &2, which took about a week to get .. 3 &4, I just covered with a different kind of plug and taped it down so it doesn't move.

Looked under the car yesterday, I don't see those holes being exposed anywhere directly to the outside... I will put it on the lift during summer to check again...
