Trunk Vents
I bought a used MY04. After a couple of days of ownership, I was exploring around the car, removed the tool case, and found soaked carpet underneath. At that time, the car was less 7 months old with 3000 miles.
I had Honda check it out, and they could not find a problem. And I have not been able to duplicate the problem either. But then again, the car is garaged and rarely driven in the rain. No leaks during hand washing.
Suggest that people check underneath their tool kit for water.

Water can be a sneaky bastard.
I had a leak in my truck once. After every rain the passenger floor was soaking wet. I finally pulled the passenger seat out and rolled up the carpet on that side. I drove around like that for 3 weeks until it rained hard enouh to leak again. Surprised me to see that it was leaking at the back corner of the cab where the roof was welded to the back wall of the cab. It would then run down the cab wall, under the seat, and collect in the passenger footwell. The factory caulks over the welds to seal them and clean them up before paint. When I dug the paint and caulk out from the weld, I found a hole big enough to drop a #2 pencil through! It was never completely welded.
Lesson learned? Water can travel great distances. Look beyond the obvious.
Yep. That's what I was talking about exactly. Where the water winds up won't always point you to its source. Although I will say water in the trunk is usually a trunk problem or a back glass. (not a problem in our cars.).

It looks like I'm going to have to take everyone's advice and put someone in the trunk and run water over the back of it. That project will have to wait a few weeks though, seeing as its about 10 degrees up here in CT.

As it happens, I had the bumper off my car this morning and took a picture of the vent in question. I don't see it being a source for a water leak unles you backed into a puddle about two feet deep.
