Trying to buy 2009 S2k
Hate car dealers but have get a s2000 just cuz they sound like so much fun. Have a Civic si that fun to beat on, but i'm tired of it. What his a good price to pay for new 09 sk2 . Vernon
Consider that, by most accounts, production has stopped on the car - they ain't making no more. So while demand is down, the supply of new cars will only get smaller. Prices for MY09s seem to be in the middle-high $20s but as the previous poster said, if you find car (and a color) that you are happy with, do it and don't look back.

2 months ago when I heard production stopped I went on a search for a my09 .At that
time there were 5 new regular s2000s in the SW. No one would budge less than 32k.
Now there are none. In the winter months IF there is one left somewhere up north
you may find one at 30k but I feel the high 20s are gone forever. Good luck though.

Bought 09 about 1 month ago in Philly area- looked from within 300 miles of city and dealt only with internet managers. Best I could do was a little over invoice.
Yeah - I know I could have waited and hoped for a dealer in pain would sell in the 20's but the free market is funny isn't it because alot of the cars I was looking at are gone. Did they go in the high 20s? I doubt it. Why? Because there are buyers like me who realizes there is an opportunity cost for the dealer AND ME to wait until summer is over. When the owner drives into his dealership in the morning he is not looking at the s2k that hasn't sold. He loses sleep over his high volume cars that are sitting on the lot costing him a fortune in financing like Accords and Civics.
There are "man bites dog" stories about incredible deals where a buyer "stole" it from the dealer but for the rest of us the market is more realistic.
Having just picked up a MY09 a couple of months ago, I can say that of the dealers in California, the best I could find was the low/mid 30's. There were fewer than 10 left in the state and everyone I called knew that
Still worth it, IMO. A new car is never the best financial decision but I really like being the original owner since that wasn't the case with either of my previous S2000's.
