Nothing on MY2001 but there is TSB 55 for shifts and TSB 54 for clutch.

See the section in here.

When you guys complain about the "grind," is it an actual grind or just a notchy feeling? I noticed when shifting in low RPMs, like in traffic, the tranny is stiff/notchy...but at decent to high RPM acceleration, the tranny is smooth.

Then again, I've grinded a couple of times from 1st to 2nd. I thought I just mis-shifted...but maybe it wasn't me. I'll wait for your responses and for more re-occurring events with my STOOK before I take it to the dealer.

Having worked at a car dealership as a service advisor I can tell you that there are allot of service advisors/managers that know nothing about TSB's. The ones that claim that they don't have any probably do, it's just no one ever bothered to file them. The amount of ignorance at some dealerships was unbelievable. So don't be afraid to educate these guys with what you know...

Best regards,
Matt

etarui:

From what I've seen, there's a wide variety of "grinds", from simple notchiness (which is prevalent with the S2000 on many cars), temperature dependent notchiness, all the way to full-fledged grinds (where it's like a mis-shift).

I had serious grinding from 1-2 when it was hot out until I had my 1-2 gearset changed about a month ago. Now it's just notchy (except when shifting when tranny is hot, which makes it smooth).

Man, this thing about the grind REALLY SUCKS ....There are peeps out there with a 2001 WITHOUT this problem right? B/c I dont have this problem and I might have misshifted once or twice but I really think thats all that was: a misshift. But other than that, no obvious grinding noise...except when i decelerate.

Oh yeah, I forgot. About the decelerating grinding noise....when I took it in to get it checked out (this was before I knew about the s2ki site, took it in strickly from the awful noise) the service guy told me that the 2000's had to have the clutch disk replaced and the 2001's already had the new disk in them. And the sound was THERE, but it shouldn't get any worse. Can I get some input on this? Thanks guys,
TonyJ
