Default tubular chassis

Hi,i'm fairly new out here so don't flame me if my theory sucks please.I was thinking about getting another s2k for a track car maybe this winter and I was wondering if it would be possible, and if it would be worth it to take a salvaged s2k and ask a shop to build a custom tube frame for it.remember it would be a track car.I have no idea if it's possible but if it is it would cut the s2k weight quite a bit so it would be a good way of making it accelerate faster, decelerate faster and handle better......any thoughts???

in the lines of this but I would want it stock looking and without all the custom parts. If I could build a s2k replica but with a tubular chassis,it would make the ultimate sleeper anybody have an idea of what a custom tubular chassis would cost,or if there's an existing one that would fit my needs??

That car is awesome! I have a ton of respect for the guy who is working so much on that. Just hope he doesn't wad it up on the track

Not likely. He holds a couple of track records in Clubmans around here. And even if he does he's part of the company that makes them so repairs will be minimal.

As fast as that car is they also built a turbo Toyota powered one and it is hands down the fastest car I have ever been in.

might want to move this to racing section as a tube frame would only be worthwhile on a racetrack. There are plenty of companies who build frames.

I'm no expert but it would probably be very expensive and you'd probably end up with a wide body (which would be badass!)

Do it!!!

Of course there is one built closer to home:

It is an absolute blast to drive and even gives you confidence to try things you never thought you could. I have taken corners at speeds I would have thought impossible.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the car I've been driving was entered in the One Lap of America as a 72nd birthday present for one of the drivers and even after missing the first 2 races they ended up 2nd in their class and something like 30th overall. Not bad for a car that had had the snot beat out of it for month prior to and had never had the hood up except to show it off.

I was thinking more of dropping everything from the S onto a tube frame, taking out ac,radio, etc and building the ultimate sleeper for the street/track.anybody has any idea of the approximative price?if it was about the same price as a turbo kit,a big brake kit and coilovers I would definitively make it,well, probably make it
