Turbo Kit Interest?
Ok I know this subject has been covered many times in the past, and a little somewhat recently. I have a friend with a shop who is very interested in producing a kit for our cars if he sees the interest right now. I know a lot of people in the past have expressed interest in the past, but I want to find out the interest as of right now.
The things I need to know is first off all the people who are interested. Second, what would you like to see in the kit, ie parts, price etc. With that info I will take it back to him and see if it is going to be a doable project. Also if it is just a manifold that intersts you, let me know.
For those who would like to know more about this guy, he has a MKIV supra that is putting around 750(i don't remember the exact number) hp down to the rear wheels. That 750hp is only running 18 lbs boost also. His company is also producing a twin turbo kit for the 350z which he tells me should be done very soon.
So, if I could get all those interested in the kit, or if you just want to post some feedback I'd appreciate it. You can either PM me or e-mail me at kevins2k@mac.com.
Best regards,
Kevin.

Kevin,
I'm sure you'll get the same response as anyone who has ever posted the same question on this board. Mainly, a lot of people are interested, a smaller percentage want to know what type of parts will be included for what price and at what gains, and an even SMALLER percentage will actually go through with the purchase. It always comes donw to "Show us a working prototype and tell us how much it will cost, PERIOD! No promises, no vaporware, just hardware."
Also, I'm not sure about other people, but it just doesn't impress me in the least when someone thinks about making a turbo for car X and days "Well look at the impressive gains that I picked up on car Y!" I feel that there are too many differences between a Supra and an S2000 engine to make that sort of apples to apples comparison. When I hear that type of response, I can only think "This guy is more interested in gaining interest instead of determining whather or not this is actually feasible."
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discourage you or your tuner friend, but the ONLY time I think you'll receive USEFUL interest data is when you can show a working prototype and announce a price range within +/- 10% of the final cost. Anything else and you're just one of the multitude of "I can build it!" turbo thread starters that get lost in the shuffle.
