This may be a really outrageous idea but I was wondering what would the possibility be to put two turbos on the S2000. You could have one to spool up early for the low end and one that would take care of the high end. I'm definitely not a very technical guy but it seems like if you could get one to work why not two?

If I remember correctly the RX7 TT and the Supra TT were set up this way.

I guess if putting on one turbo would cost anywhere from $5,000 - $10,000 then two would surely break the bank but man that would be something else in the way of power.

If anyone would like to shed some light on the technical aspect that would be great.

Thanks,
Acceleratrix.

Keep it stock, enjoy the warranty. I'm not sure if anyone has successfully developed a totally reliable single turbo yet.

Technically, anything is possible.

YES! But do you really need two?

I definitely love this car stock. It is incredibly fun. But I also like to imagine the possibilities. I don't have nearly enough to do this but it sure would be cool to have it.

I surely don't need two turbos but I also don't need a 240hp, $35,000 roadster either. However having one is pretty great.

Twin turbos? Intercooler? That is the easy part.

The hard part is the Fuel management system. If you want to have decent driveability, someone has to design a "mass airflow" type fuel system for the car. This is the kind of fuel system every modern turbo car has.

Also, since you are spending big bucks, I would also lower the compression ratio to 8:1 or 9:1 so you can run alot of boost. I figure 20psi should give you about 350rwhp.

I am much more a fan of Turbocharging as opposed to Supercharging, and the minute someone makes a good kit...that's where my pennies will go. My reasoning is that with 10-12lbs of boost on a small turbo the torque deficit we have will be virtually eliminated (Turbos by design create gobbs of torque) past 3,500rpm. Keep it from coaking and you've got dead-reliable hp. I can only imagine the VTEC surge with boost...omg.

I know all about turbocharged mini motors, I had a race moded SVO Mustang with the good ol' 2.3.liter. What a fun car. A well designed turbo motor is hard to beat.

That thing (all 140 cubic inches)really put you in the seat. It made about 350 hp at the crank. Alot of people mistook it for a V-8. My SVO was easily on par with a 911 Turbo, in horsepower at least.

In street races (me bad, I know)I would get the car rolling in second gear at 3000rpm and brake torque it with the throttle wide open to get maximum boost. When I let the brakes off, the car would just leap forward with this screaming turbo whine. It was funny to see the other guy's face as we instantly pulled away. The car was violently fast for a little 4 cylinder, kinda like my new Honda.

In case you don't remember what a SVO looks like...

do a search on 'turbo'
you'll find that no-one has (as of yet) figured out how to (reliably) turbocharge the S2000
single, double... moot point
